I play Rayne in a Star Wars Pbem from TCR games. Game just started very recently

Lucien Rayne was born in the backwater town of Miller's Station on the backwater planet of Krenos VII. Krenos was a fairly low-tech world. The single starport was on the other side of the planet, the plant overgrowth was so thick that riding an animal or walking was generally faster than trying to get anywhere on a swoop, and most of the blasters on the planet were possessed by Krenos's numerous outlaw bands, who plagued the planet.

Lucien was young, only about 10 or 11 years old, that he had an encounter with the outlaw band, Maelstrom Raze. The attack on the Rayne families farm was swift and brutal. Acting quickly,

Lucien's mother, hid him, his brother and his sister in the cellar while his father tried to distract the outlaws. A hail of blaster fire ended the life of Lucien's father and the screams of his motherhaunted him in his nightmares for years afterwards. Maelstrom Raze burned the farm to the ground, but failed to notice the durasteel doors that led to the cellar.

Lucien, his brother and sister made their way into Miller's Station. Between odd jobs, the occasional theft, and down and out begging, the Rayne children managed a decent, if sparse, living.

But the outlaw bands were a constant problem. It seemed that whenever they weren't victimizing the populace outright, innocent people were getting caught in the crossfire of the outlaws constant wars.. By far, the worst of these two were the Scarlet Dragons and the Maelstrom Raze.

By the time he was sixteen, Lucien had had enough, and he vowed to pu t an end to the Dragons and the Raze. He didn't have a chance against the outlaws directly, so he formulated a plan. Disguising himself as a member of the Raze, he killed one of the Dragons. Then disguising himself as one of the Dragons, he killed one of the Raze. In this manner, Lucien kept escalating tensions between the Raze and the Dragons for over a year. When it finally came to a head, the Raze and the Dragons had one final battle. They nearly wiped each other out. Those few survivors soon found themselves looking down the blaster of the assassin who had been taking them apart. A few suddenly figured out what had happened, a few didn't. All were soon burned down by blaster fire.

A few of the Outlaws had minor bounties on them. Though almost nothing compared to the galactic standard, it was a near fortune in Miller's Station. As time went on, Lucien, working as bounty hunter full time now, brought in more and more outlaws. Some alive, most dead. After a couple of ye ars, Lucien, leaving his brother and sister enough money to get off planet, left Krenos VII and started bounty hunting in the larger portion of the galaxy.

Rayne was good at what he did, though now his price for a single bounty was often enough for him to live comfortably for years on Krenos.

A little over a year ago, Rayne was delivering a prisoner to the Empire. Captain Gren, who was in charge of paying the bounty hunter, decided it would be simpler to just kill the man. They failed. Though Rayne was seriously injured escaping.

Gren decided not to report the incident, largely because he thought Rayne had died of his wounds, and because he didn't want his superiors asking too many questions. He did, however, manage to spark a grudge against the Empire in Rayne. Rayne no longer accepts contracts from the Empire. Though he now looks for ways to screw over the Empire, he hasn't tried to join the Rebellion (or the Dreamers as he calls them) because he doesn't believe they have a chance in hades of winning.

While Rayne has excellent Reflexes, as well as good physical and mental abilities, his ability with machines often leaves a lot to be desired. In fact, the Captain of the last ship he was aboard, banned him from ship's guns after he managed to somehow blow off their own vessels landing gear.
